PHP String Functions
PHP String Functions
A string is a sequence of characters. PHP supports single quoted as well as double quoted string formation. Both the representations ‘PHP string' as well as “PHP string" are valid. There is a big difference between double quotes and single quotes in PHP. Double quotes process special characters, single quotes does not.
PHP Escape Characters
To insert characters that are illegal in a string, use an escape character. An escape character is a backslash \ followed by the character you want to insert. An example of an illegal character is a double quote inside a string that is surrounded by double quotes.
